About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Report to the Research Administration Services (RAS) Director
- Lead and supervise staff performing pre-award activities for the sponsored projects research portfolio
- Monitor workload distribution and redistribute tasks as appropriate
- Provide guidance and mentor staff for professional development
- May perform post-award activities in support of the RAS unit
- Apply federal and university rules to effort allocation for individuals compensated from federal awards
- Apply costing rules and regulations to federally funded projects
- Analyze information and formulate conclusions
- Ensure strong customer service to faculty and departments
- Address issues violating performance levels or RAS performance level agreements
- Develop budgets and compile proposal contents
- Enter proposals into EPEX
- Assist principal investigators with JIT form submissions
- Prepare CAS exceptions for approval
- Interact with OSP
- Assist with sub-award documents and relationships with project partners
- Prepare high-quality written reports
- Coordinate inter-team meetings with the Post-Award team lead
- Perform related responsibilities as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree and five years work-related grants and contracts experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Knowledge of federal rules and regulations relating to research grant and/or contract activity
- Deep understanding of award proposal processes for multiple sponsoring bodies
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite software
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to work Eastern (EST) time zone business hours may apply
- Primary work location cannot be New Jersey, Alaska, Hawaii, any U.S. Territories, or outside of the United States
