About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead efforts to ensure informatics systems support and advance Emory University's objectives and mission
  • Work directly with faculty and staff to document, analyze, and translate needs into technical designs and informatics solutions
  • Use standard software requirements and design practices to document informatics solutions supporting activities across the university
  • Apply biomedical informatics technical standards, methodologies, and principles to program needs, objectives, and outcomes
  • Manage related systems projects from a client business perspective
  • Monitor ongoing information systems delivery to the enterprise and ensure high client satisfaction
  • Perform related responsibilities as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in information technology, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Experience working within a health, research, or academic institution
  • Knowledge of data and information systems standards relevant to biomedical informatics and health systems
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong SQL coding skills
  • Certification or proficiency in Epic Cogito (Clarity/Caboodle)
  • At least 2 years of experience working with Epic electronic health record data; clinical data model preferred
  • Experience with R, Python, or DBT
  • Experience in an academic medical center or research setting
  • Understanding of healthcare data governance and regulatory frameworks for research
  • Experience with OMOP Common Data Model (CDM) and data mapping, including mapping source systems to OMOP standardized vocabularies
  • Experience with cloud analytics and data warehouse platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure/Data Fabric, Snowflake, or similar
  • Experience with agile methodologies and version control (Git)
  • Eastern (EST) time zone business hours may apply
  • Primary work location cannot be New Jersey, Alaska, Hawaii, any U.S. Territories, or outside of the United States
