About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the configuration, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network services and devices
  • Monitor critical processes for Emory's enterprise-wide systems and applications in the Network Operations Center
  • Monitor data downloads to ensure job completions
  • Address interruptions and failures and interact with programmers and requestors to troubleshoot and resolve errors
  • Resolve issues within a timely manner
  • Provide technical expertise for network infrastructure designs, expansions, and configurations
  • Maintain 24 x 7 coverage and support, including on-call support
  • Interact with customers to resolve network issues
  • Perform inspections and upgrades
  • Develop and maintain documentation
  • Assist with systems and support configuration modifications and changes
  • Report to the NOC Manager, or the Run or Build Manager of Network Services
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field, and three years of related IT experience, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Strong technical aptitude in troubleshooting and testing activities related to network services
  • Aptitude to perform troubleshooting, testing, scripting, and coding
  • Ability to provide support without direction and support configuration modifications/changes
  • Ability to work the Wednesday-Saturday 7AM-5PM schedule
  • Ability to participate in 24 x 7 coverage and on-call support
