About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in managing administrative activities associated with research projects, including personnel training and supervision, grant and budget preparation, data management, statistical analysis, and regulatory compliance
  • Assist in preparing budgets, monitoring expenditures, and preparing financial reports
  • Manage databases, including data collection, coding, analysis, and storage
  • Assist in developing and submitting grant proposals; monitor grant expenditures and advise the principal investigator of reporting or accounting requirement changes
  • Serve as project liaison to departments, outside organizations, government agencies, and product representatives
  • Oversee operational and statistical reports for management and regulatory agencies
  • Ensure projects are administered according to research protocols
  • Assist with recruiting and interviewing patients or subjects, developing and conducting tests and surveys, gathering or abstracting data, and making presentations
  • Conduct literature searches and assist with publications
  • Supervise staff by orienting, training, and providing ongoing performance feedback
  • Perform related responsibilities as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a science discipline, business management, or related field and two years of related professional experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training
  • Preferred: master's degree with at least two years of experience in the field
  • Strong background in research principles preferred
  • Background in epidemiology and data analysis preferred
  • Strong project management skills preferred
  • Residency in the state of Georgia required
  • Must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based on business needs
  • Approved CAS Exception required for anyone charged to a federal grant or contract under this job code
