About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Recruit, screen, identify, contact, and interview participants for assigned research projects
  • Conduct interviews in person, in clinical settings, at participants’ residences, or by telephone
  • Coordinate data collection processes
  • Abstract data from participants’ medical records as needed
  • Schedule appointments, obtain consent forms, explain studies, and collect data
  • Observe participants and document results through written records or video recordings
  • Edit questionnaires for completeness, legibility, and accuracy
  • Follow up with participants to obtain missing or clarify existing data
  • Design forms, worksheets, and study questionnaires
  • Code and enter data into databases as needed
  • Compile data and produce reports for research analysis
  • Monitor blood pressure and heart rate; take vital signs and height/weight measurements as needed
  • Collect blood, saliva, or urine samples and prepare them for laboratory testing as needed
  • Provide direction to others involved in interviewing
  • Maintain required records and perform related responsibilities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of administrative support, customer service or other related experience, including one year of interviewing experience
  • Data entry experience
  • Completion of a phlebotomy training program for positions requiring blood drawing
