About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform supply chain activities from entry to exit for inventory, supplies, and equipment throughout the assigned Emory hospital, warehouse, distribution center, or supply chain environment
- Maintain supply chain inventory locations using technology-supported devices
- Conduct inventory for dynamically changing par-level supply locations and recommend replenishment orders
- Recommend par-level changes using trending data and supply chain management software
- Forecast inventory needs and adjustments to guarantee product availability
- Deliver and replenish supplies based on department or supply chain orders
- Arrange, receive, process, and distribute supplies and equipment
- Assist supply chain customers with product selection and support
- Communicate receiving and inventory status to supply chain leadership
- Enter inventory data into the supply chain management software system
- Rotate, cycle count, and inspect products using FIFO and LIFO storage methods, including expiration-date verification
- Participate in receiving shipments and process bills of lading, packing slips, and related information
- Operate material-handling equipment such as pallet jacks, order pickers, stackers, forklifts, hand trucks, floats, and push carts
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Maintain, inventory, retrieve, and issue medical procedure carts and related equipment
- Use the pneumatic tube system for order delivery and transport to patient-care areas
- Issue, process, and order Wound Vacs and specialty beds through appropriate software
- Maintain patient information and vendor communication for patient charges and inventory accountability
- Prepare, document, store, and distribute linen; maintain linen par data and prepare linen distribution carts
- May operate a 35-foot box truck and/or cargo van
- Perform other supply chain responsibilities as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of warehouse, stockroom, or related experience
- May require a valid Georgia driver's license and insurable driving record
- Some positions may require the ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop, and twist
- Some individuals may be required to pass the DOT physical
- Ability to work the 3rd shift (11 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Ability to perform work in person at an Emory University location; remote work is not an option
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry objects up to 35 pounds
- Ability to work in environments involving blood-borne pathogens, bio-hazardous waste, chemicals, gases, fumes, vapors, communicable diseases, electrical shock, radiation, and varied temperatures
- Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, as required
- Ability to perform occasional to frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, and close eye work
- Required material handling licensure, certifications, and training where applicable
