About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Set up and operate CNC mills, surface finishing machines, and vibratory tumblers according to job specifications, setup sheets, and blueprints
  • Load raw materials and tooling; adjust machine settings; ensure proper alignment and calibration
  • Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools
  • Monitor machining operations and adjust processes to maintain part quality and efficiency
  • Identify and report deviations or machine malfunctions
  • Complete job travelers, inspection reports, and time logs
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and daily cleaning of machines and work areas
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized, hazard-free work environment
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors on continuous improvement and machining issue resolution
  • Support production of precision-machined components used in rugged computer server assembly
  • Meet production targets while maintaining safety and quality standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be a US Person (US Citizen, person granted US Permanent Resident Card or any individual who is granted status as a "protected person”)
  • GED/High School Diploma
  • 1+ years of experience operating CNC machines in a preferred manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, setup sheets, and technical drawings
  • Familiarity with G-code and CNC controls such as Fanuc, Haas, or Siemens (depending on equipment used)
  • Basic math skills and experience with measurement tools
  • Attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a strong work ethic
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed
  • Knowledge of CNC machining principles, including speeds, feeds, tooling, and cutting parameters
  • Understanding of mechanical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T
  • Familiarity with machining safety protocols and workplace safety standards
  • Working knowledge of inspection processes and quality control methods
  • Proficiency in operating CNC mills and related finishing equipment, including Apex machine and vibratory tumblers
  • Skill in using precision measurement instruments, including micrometers, calipers, and height gauges
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and production documentation
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience operating CNC mills in a production environment
  • Preferred: Experience operating an Apex surface finishing machine and/or vibratory tumblers
  • Preferred: Completion of a machining or manufacturing technology certificate or apprenticeship program
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Fanuc, Haas, or similar CNC control systems
  • Preferred: Experience with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement initiatives
  • Preferred: Basic understanding of G-code programming and CNC editing
  • Preferred: Proven track record of consistent quality, productivity, and workplace safety
