About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, and verify custom electrical assemblies and interconnects
  • Develop mixed-signal printed circuit boards containing high-speed digital circuitry, embedded systems, power conversion, and related technologies
  • Design associated chassis and interface wiring
  • Use electrical design tools such as Altium and PSpice to convert technical requirements into schematics, PCB layouts, and assembly drawings
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings and designs for adherence to specifications and standards
  • Prepare technical drawings and electrical system specifications
  • Assist System Architects in researching, designing, and evaluating systems and processes to meet customer requirements
  • Perform component-level reviews and provide electrical troubleshooting support for Manufacturing, Technical Services, and Sales
  • Investigate equipment failures, diagnose faulty operation, and recommend remedial actions
  • Design, implement, maintain, or improve electrical equipment, components, products, and systems
  • Develop or test electrical models of alternate designs or processing methods
  • Coordinate electrical manufacturing and testing activities for compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements
  • Specify electrical components or direct product modifications for conformance with engineering and environmental requirements
  • Compile data and write reports on electrical engineering studies or projects
  • Design electrical test control apparatus or equipment and develop product testing procedures
  • Perform detailed electrical calculations to establish manufacturing standards or specifications
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data
  • Evaluate electrical designs or prototypes for energy performance or environmental impact
  • Plan or implement research methodology applying electrical theory to engineering projects
  • Design electrical systems or components that minimize energy requirements
  • Write electrical performance requirements for product development or engineering projects
  • Provide technical assistance for Pilot Line builds and testing of new products and systems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be a US Person (US Citizen, person granted US Permanent Resident Card or any individual who is granted status as a "protected person")
  • Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • Experience with printed circuit design and layout
  • Skills and knowledge with systems integration
  • Must be able to sit, stand and bend at various times while lifting and reviewing computer hardware items
  • Ability to inspect products and effectively use the computer on a daily basis
  • Familiarity with Altium Designer, AutoDesk Inventor, and AutoCAD
  • Must be able to multitask to meet several simultaneous project milestones, including completion of several projects
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment and willingness to change priorities as needed
  • Preferred: PCB and schematic layout experience
  • Preferred: CAD software-related work
  • Preferred: Knowledge of computer equipment
