About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the Product Engineering organization and own feature delivery across multiple engineering pods
- Manage delivery for multiple product engineering pods, ensuring predictable, high-quality releases against roadmap commitments
- Stand up and scale new engineering pods, defining team composition, cadence, and ways of working
- Partner with Product Management and business stakeholders to translate requirements into executable work
- Maintain hands-on technical expertise in design, code, and deployments
- Coach and develop engineering managers and senior engineers
- Drive engineering rigor, code quality, testing discipline, and architecture alignment with QA and Architecture
- Drive scaled hiring, performance management, and career growth for the Product Engineering team
- Report delivery health, velocity, risks, and escalations to senior leadership
- Champion adoption and experimental scaling of Lantern’s AI-assisted SDLC tooling and practices
- Report to the VP of Engineering
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years leading engineering managers or senior technical leads
- Track record of standing up or restructuring engineering teams around new delivery models, such as pod-based or iterative, loop-based development
- Deep experience partnering with Product and QA to ship complex, customer-facing software at scale
- Strong technical judgment across modern architecture, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD practices
- Experience operating in a regulated or healthcare-adjacent environment is a plus
- 7+ years of experience in software development, with a strong proficiency in .NET Core, C#, Typescript, and/or Python
- Proven experience leading software development teams specializing in web applications and integrations
- Experience in modern JavaScript frameworks, .NET Core, C#, Typescript, Python, REST APIs, SQL, etc.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based development (Azure preferred)
- Ability to move quickly without sacrificing quality
- Clear and direct communication with engineers and executive stakeholders
- Experience building or scaling pod-based engineering structures
- Experience coaching engineering managers
- Builder’s mindset and comfort defining new team processes
