About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and proofread editorial materials in accordance with project guidelines
Make the necessary adjustments and corrections to files
Prepare and deliver editable files, source files, and final PDFs according to specifications
Maintain the visual consistency of materials throughout the process
Submit unforeseen changes for approval before implementation
Work on editorial projects such as books, sheet music, music booklets, essays, scripts, and photographic and documentary publications
Work in one or more specializations: music, text, and photography

Requirements

What you’ll need

Demonstrated experience in editorial layout design
Proficiency in professional desktop publishing software and print file preparation
Knowledge of typography, image resolution, color management, and prepress
Ability to faithfully reproduce PDF layouts while preserving fonts, text, layout, sheet music, author credits, and other original elements
Availability to present a portfolio of completed work
For initial work on music projects, demonstrated experience with sheet music
Higher education preferred
1–3 years of professional experience
