About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support employee onboarding, orientation, and ongoing HR needs
  • Maintain accurate, confidential personnel records and HR documentation
  • Support HR communications, reporting, recordkeeping, and compliance activities
  • Assist with employee training, development, engagement, and recognition initiatives
  • Support HR projects, process improvements, and departmental initiatives
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Personnel Management Department
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle employee information professionally and appropriately
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on departmental needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Emergency Management, or related field
  • 0–2 years of experience in human resources, recruiting, employee administration, business administration, customer service, or a related field
  • IS-100.c – Introduction to Incident Command System, required prior to hire
  • IS-200.b – ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents, required prior to hire
  • IS-700.b – National Incident Management System (NIMS), required prior to hire
  • IS-800.c – National Response Framework, required prior to hire
  • Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull 50 pounds or more and assist with loading and unloading cargo and response equipment
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and operate in physically demanding environments
  • Ability to use multiple communication systems, including cellular, radio, and satellite
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Successful completion of required background checks and drug screenings upon hire and on a random basis during employment
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States
  • Employer is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa
