About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist with daily, monthly, and/or quarterly accounting tasks
- Prepare journal entries
- Generate and analyze reports
- Assist with tax or compliance activities
- Support accounts payable functions
- Perform reconciliations
- Support cross-functional accounting department project initiatives
- Participate in company-wide intern program activities
- Provide short-term vacation coverage for employees
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Gain exposure to financial reporting, investments, reinsurance, property and casualty accounting, accounting operations, accounts payable, and tax
Requirements
What you’ll need- Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university
- At least 60 credit hours completed prior to the start of the internship
- Completion of basic accounting courses
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and advanced formulas
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
