About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a team of people managers and underwriting associates, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management
- Establish workflows to reduce or eliminate manual processes and improve efficiencies
- Collaborate with underwriting managers to ensure effective support and address improvement opportunities
- Manage processes for internal and external audits
- Manage monthly premium bookings and overdue premium processes
- Lead or support headcount and workload management
- Identify and develop operational performance metrics and assist management with KPI reporting
- Participate in value stream mapping and cross-functional projects to create process efficiencies
- Create a culture of continuous improvement
- Perform ad hoc projects as needed
- Provide backup to other managers as necessary
- Work closely with underwriting, CAT, centralized support, claims, and other partners
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of managerial experience with similar duties
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Extensive experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter
- Technical capabilities such as Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
- Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
