About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide specialist electrical support to workshop and field technicians across the Rental Solutions fleet
  • Support equipment specification, commissioning, complex fault-finding, and technical issue resolution
  • Configure and support control and monitoring systems, including ComAp controllers
  • Support the migration and integration of fleet assets into remote telemetry platforms
  • Advise sales and operations teams, project managers, and engineers on generators, battery energy storage systems, chillers, and HVAC equipment
  • Contribute technical input into EPSA’s five-year strategic fleet plan and annual CAPEX process
  • Review branch fleet assets requiring major repairs and escalate significant technical issues
  • Ensure fleet assets comply with relevant Australian standards, legislative requirements, and document control processes
  • Develop and maintain operating, maintenance, service scheduling, and fault-diagnosis documentation
  • Support the onboarding and technical development of new rental technicians
  • Build technical relationships with Caterpillar, other dealers, and equipment suppliers
  • Provide after-hours technical support when required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • An A Grade industrial electrical trade qualification, or an Electrical Engineering qualification supported by practical, hands-on experience
  • A minimum of five years’ field experience within power generation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ComAp controllers and control systems
  • Strong experience with diesel or gas engine-driven generator systems and battery energy storage systems
  • Proven fault-finding, troubleshooting, and diagnostic capability
  • Experience in PLC programming and system configuration
  • Knowledge of Australian standards and regulations relating to generator systems and electrical installations
  • Experience preparing, maintaining, and controlling technical documentation
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills
  • High-level organisational capability, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and technical projects
  • Confidence working across multiple IT platforms
  • Technical experience with Caterpillar engines highly regarded
  • Exposure to Atlas Copco or Sullair air compressors highly regarded
  • Experience with York or Trane temperature control equipment highly regarded
  • Broader experience across generators, battery energy storage, chillers, or HVAC systems highly regarded
