About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide subject-matter expertise supporting the Geotechnical, Civil, and Structural aspects of energy storage, generation, and data center projects throughout all phases of project development
  • Lead delivery of safe and efficient Geotechnical, Civil, and Structural design on the Owner/EPC side
  • Support execution planning, project estimating, concept-level site design, and external Engineer of Record scoping and selection
  • Assess project site civil engineering aspects, identify engineering challenges, and propose mitigation approaches
  • Characterize foundation conditions and identify suitable foundation solutions
  • Support concept-level site layout drawings and routing of critical infrastructure, transformers, switchyards, access roads, parking lots, and facilities
  • Develop Scope of Work documents for Geotech, Civil, and Structural project portions
  • Review Consultant and Contractor bids
  • Support Engineer of Record design management, design review, and value engineering
  • Review Contractor/Subcontractor submittals, RFIs, and NCRs during construction
  • Provide regular site presence in support of QA/QC, initially primarily at Texas jobsites
  • Work closely with Energy Vault Construction Management teams during multi-day site periods
  • Ensure accurate civil as-built records and quality documents are produced and recorded at project close-out
  • Support continuous improvement and innovation for best-in-class delivery

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Master's degree is preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, typically post-graduation.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration in the U.S. is preferred.
  • Extensive general civil engineering design and construction experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop innovative engineering solutions to better serve clients and reduce costs.
  • Experience in the power industry, with a working understanding of electrical grid requirements.
  • Strong background in foundation and structural design and construction.
  • Extensive experience in site grading and drainage design.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally, up to 50%.
  • Comfortable thriving in fast-paced, rapid growth environments.
