About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Carry out various tasks to complete product assembly
- Start up and operate equipment
- Troubleshoot and adjust equipment as necessary
- Follow department instructions and procedures
- Visually inspect material for defects
- Control scrap
- Count and record production as necessary
- Perform daily housekeeping and cleanliness procedures
- Follow ISO, environmental, and safety procedures
- Perform mechanical work using hand/power tools to construct and manufacture products
- Pack and secure materials for transport
- Work as part of a production team to meet production targets
- Liaise with maintenance regarding machine issues to minimize downtime
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ability to do basic math (subtract, multiply, divide, percentages)
- Ability to read, write, understand, and interpret instructions
- Ability to differentiate colors
- Ability to frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis; heavier items require mechanical or employee assistance
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment properly at all times
- Must be able and willing to wear a respirator
- Must be able and willing to work overtime
- Must be able and willing to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
- Ability to perform mechanical work using hand/power tools
- Preferred: Manufacturing experience
- Exposure to electrical shock risk and harmful lead/fiberglass materials; periodic blood tests are required
- Ability to work in a plant/warehouse environment with varying working conditions
