About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Shadow an experienced technician on service calls
  • Perform basic equipment checks
  • Travel to customer sites to assist with installation and repair of equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks under supervision
  • Provide on-site service, maintenance, and repair for Energy Systems products and equipment
  • Maintain and service uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), switchgear, and other critical equipment
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through timely, efficient, and professional service
  • Communicate with internal teams to ensure seamless customer support and service delivery
  • Act as a liaison between customers and the company
  • Adhere to company safety policies and procedures, including OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and ISO9000 standards
  • Operate material handling equipment safely and maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Complete required safety and compliance training
  • Maintain accurate records of service calls, maintenance activities, and customer interactions
  • Complete service reports, expense reports, and quality alerts
  • Manage company assets, including a service vehicle, parts inventory, tools, and test equipment

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 6-12 months of experience in field service or a related role, preferably in the electrical field
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Physical ability to lift and carry equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
  • Familiarity with electrical systems and schematics
  • Must be able to pass the company’s driving requirements
  • Must be able to differentiate colors
  • Must be able to frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel or crouch
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able and willing to be on-call
  • Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times
  • Must be able and willing to work in varying plant/warehouse conditions
  • Must be able to work around electrical shock risks and harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products
