About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Shadow an experienced technician on service calls
- Perform basic equipment checks
- Travel to customer sites to assist with installation and repair of equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks under supervision
- Provide on-site service, maintenance, and repair for Energy Systems products and equipment
- Service and maintain uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), switchgear, and other critical equipment
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through timely, efficient, and professional service
- Communicate with internal teams to ensure seamless customer support and service delivery
- Act as a liaison between customers and the company
- Adhere to company safety policies and OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and ISO9000 standards
- Operate material handling equipment safely and maintain a clean, organized work environment
- Complete required safety and compliance training
- Maintain accurate records of service calls, maintenance activities, and customer interactions
- Complete service reports, expense reports, and quality alerts
- Manage company assets including a service vehicle, parts inventory, tools, and test equipment
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 6-12 months of experience in field service or a related role, preferably in the electrical field
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Physical ability to lift and carry equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
- Familiarity with electrical systems and schematics
- Must be able to pass the company’s driving requirements
- Must be able to differentiate colors
- Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able and willing to be on-call
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment
- Ability to work around electrical shock risks and harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products
- Periodic blood tests are required to measure lead levels
- Ability to work in a plant/warehouse environment with varying working conditions
