About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support EnerSys Operating System transformation efforts
  • Implement and support actions improving safety, quality, delivery, cycle time, growth, margin expansion, and inventory levels
  • Execute long- and short-term objectives supporting EOS goals
  • Work with plant personnel to identify, address, and eliminate process-related obstacles
  • Assist with changing systems and processes for EOS initiatives
  • Learn value stream mapping techniques to design optimal information, material, and production flows
  • Act as a change agent through Rapid Improvement Events
  • Own pre- and post-event standard work
  • Participate in facilitating projects and events
  • Participate in MDI gemba walks
  • Update and maintain visual performance tools, including mission control and MDI boards
  • Conduct cycle-time analysis, time studies, work balance/flow improvements, and workplace analysis and improvement
  • Help develop more efficient use of people, machines, materials, information, and energy
  • Collaborate with plant personnel and improvement teams
  • Regularly attend in person and work irregular hours on short notice when required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 24 months manufacturing experience
  • Successful demonstration of Lean thinking and teamwork
  • Regular in-person attendance with on-time arrival/departure
  • Ability to work irregular hours on short notice
  • Punctuality and dependability
  • Ability to lead an improvement team
  • Results-oriented change-agent mindset and effective business systems thinking
  • Ability to learn statistical analysis tools/methodology and basic project management
  • Ability to assist in group activities and discussions using a defined process
  • Ability to energize and motivate teams
  • Ability to recognize conflict and take appropriate action within scope of the role
  • Above-average written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer skills using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to create spreadsheets for analysis and tracking of data-based metrics
  • Understanding of manufacturing principles/practices
  • Effective oral/written communication and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Occasional travel may be required
