About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical support for end-users, emphasizing network infrastructure maintenance and optimization
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, VPN, and wireless networks
  • Manage and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and related network hardware
  • Perform routine network updates, patches, and configurations
  • Document network configurations, procedures, and policies
  • Provide Level 2 support for network-related issues and escalate to Level 3 support or external vendors as needed
  • Collaborate with the IT Help Desk, server/storage, cybersecurity, and other IT teams to resolve technical problems
  • Use network monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve potential issues
  • Maintain records of network incidents, changes, and performance metrics
  • Enforce and follow EnerSys policies and procedures
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in network administration, systems administration, or a related IT infrastructure role
  • Prior help desk, desktop support, or PC-related experience preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, OSPF, and BGP
  • Proficiency in network security principles, practices, and tools
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows server and workstation environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Working knowledge of PC hardware, peripheral devices, and printing systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to develop, execute, and monitor project plans and provide timely status updates
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to manage time and resources efficiently
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to apply sound judgment and common-sense reasoning
  • Availability for after-hours or weekend support
  • Participation in an after-hours on-call rotation is required
