About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage, direct, and evaluate recruitment, training/development, employee turnover/retention, performance management, and safety compliance programs and policies
  • Develop and administer human resources and safety plans and procedures for EnerSys/Warrensburg personnel
  • Plan, organize, and control human resources and safety department activities, goals, objectives, and HRIS systems
  • Develop and maintain Affirmative Action Plans and file annual EEO-1 and VETS-100 reports
  • Plan and assist with recruitment for exempt, non-exempt, and temporary personnel
  • Assist with new employee orientation, employee relations counseling and discipline, exit interviews, and employment advertising
  • Implement and update compensation programs, job descriptions, and annual wage surveys
  • Establish and maintain employee/management relations and a union-free workplace
  • Maintain confidential employee files, records, reports, policies, and procedures
  • Administer benefits, including claim resolution, change reporting, invoice approval, and annual open enrollment
  • Evaluate HR work-group results against goals and implement continuous-improvement approaches
  • Track applications and dispositions for affirmative action compliance
  • Prepare and manage the human resources budget
  • Maintain organization charts and master employee lists
  • Coordinate risk management and investigate injuries, incidents, and accidents
  • Assist with onsite safety programs and safety team coordination
  • Prepare employee separation notices, conduct exit interviews, and analyze turnover reasons
  • Represent the company in unemployment and workers’ compensation hearings and investigations
  • Contract with outside providers for employee services
  • Participate in weekly or scheduled senior management meetings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree with five (5) years Human Resources work experience; or Master’s Degree in Human Resources with three (3) years Human Resources work experience; or ten years experience in Human Resources Management; or an appropriate combination of education and Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal labor law and general human resources concepts
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written
  • Ability to respond to and persuade all levels of the organization to initiate and lead change
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret policies, compliance guidelines, financial reports and legal documents
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies, or business community members
  • Ability to write and deliver speeches and write articles conforming to company style and format
  • Ability to present information to management teams, public groups, and/or boards of directors
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations involving whole numbers, fractions, decimals, rates, ratios, and percentages
  • Ability to develop and interpret graphs for presentations or reports
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written and verbal instructions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), ABRA, and HRizon HRIS System
  • Must be knowledgeable and proficient in HRIS
  • Familiarity with internet models and technologies
  • Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment is required under the appropriate-combination pathway
  • Ability to work in an office setting with minimal physical demands
