Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee a broad range of delivery projects fulfilling client expectations for hardware and software Lifecycle Management
Manage teams administering multiple mainframes running on z/OS systems
Lead work involving Console/Batch Monitoring, Scheduling, DB2, IMS, CICS, Storage, and related technologies
Anticipate client expectations and incorporate needs proactively into client roadmaps
Influence internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels
Communicate complex technical topics with clarity, brevity, and impact
Lead the organization through cross-functional and collaborative efforts
Partner with solutioning and sales to shape new opportunities and presales efforts
Coach and mentor managers and develop talent through talent management processes
Provide leadership and direction to the functional organization
Navigate ambiguity and set direction
Use systems and data to make decisions, track progress, and drive outcomes
Develop, assess, and ensure completion of personnel, departmental, and company goals
Participate in and provide timely responses to all internal and external audits

Requirements

What you’ll need

12+ years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; relevant work experience will be considered in place of a bachelor’s degree
Direct mainframe experience required
Experience in diverse mainframe technical environments
Experience in one or more mainframe infrastructure, hardware, system programming technologies and/or application development
Alternative experiences must include high learning agility to acquire mainframe technology knowledge and apply previous experiences to achieve operational outcomes
Ability to manage up, down and across organizations, clients and/or functions
Communication skills to appropriately lead at the client, team, and business unit levels
Experience leading complex projects and programs
Microsoft Office skills including Microsoft Project
Preferred: background in financial/banking industry
Preferred: knowledge in one or more areas of mainframe discipline
Preferred: ITIL or ITSM oversight or expertise in Release, Change and CMDB
Preferred: knowledge of system IPL processes
Preferred: knowledge of ISPF/TSO
Preferred: project management methodology experience in PMI-ACP, PMP, PRINCE or PMBOK
