Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and VSAM
Support, maintain, and enhance critical mainframe applications
Provide technical troubleshooting and resolution for complex application and integration issues
Conduct performance tuning and optimization of mainframe applications and database queries
Develop technical documentation, including knowledge base articles and SOPs, for business and support teams
Understand functional and technical requirements and provide implementation/change options aligned with business needs
Handle incidents, service requests, and change requests
Act as a technical lead and guide junior team members

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
3–5 years of specialized technical experience
Extensive experience in mainframe application development, support and maintenance
Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM
Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies
Experience with version control systems and software development tools
Experience with enterprise-level ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Service Manager
Experience working on waterfall and agile methodology projects
Ability to handle incidents, service requests, and change requests simultaneously
US Citizen or US Green Card Holder
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
