About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical leadership for the Mainframe Automation team
  • Accelerate the design, development, and performance of automation solutions
  • Integrate capabilities across Envision X, AIR, and Sidekick
  • Guide the architecture of Automation Point, OPS/MVS, and z/OSMF environments
  • Partner across teams to translate complex business and operational needs into scalable, resilient solutions
  • Architect and deliver scalable automation across multiple platforms
  • Align tool capabilities with complex business requirements
  • Design solutions that reduce or eliminate manual intervention through automated corrective actions
  • Lead delivery of high-quality solutions using Agile development methodologies
  • Set technical direction and promote effective engineering practices
  • Evaluate existing tools, identify systemic gaps and improvement opportunities, and drive enhancements for proactive issue detection

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS Degree in computer science or related field and 10 years’ development experience is preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Passionate about creating a world-class client experience and building quality solutions via technology
  • Motivated by solving complex problems and improving tool performance with automation
  • Passion and aptitude to learn; curious and sees every challenge as an opportunity
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Software development and programming, including writing and documenting code
  • Programming languages: REXX, Assembler
  • Code hosting platforms for version control and source code management such as GitHub
  • Software development issue tracking and Agile project management tools such as Jira or Bugzilla
  • Mainframe operating systems and sub-components: z/OS, MVS
  • Software packaging and distribution
  • IT Service Management (ITSM)
  • IT operations management (ITOM)
