About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Take ownership of complex business challenges end to end with minimal support
Consult with senior stakeholders to understand business needs and determine the best data/analytics approach
Deliver clear, actionable data analytics and insights to senior stakeholders and forums
Operate as a trusted data and analytics expert and identify opportunities to advance data capability
Use storytelling and visualisation techniques to communicate insights in an engaging, simple manner
Co-lead learning and development plans across the data community
Mentor junior members of the data community
Update documentation, including the data catalogue and code libraries
Share knowledge and continuously grow best practice
Collaborate across cross-functional teams and external partners
Shape technical direction, design approaches, and delivery patterns for consistent, scalable outcomes

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven excellent experience as a principal / senior data analyst, ideally 7+ years
Excellent problem solving skills and high levels of curiosity
Advanced SQL and Python skills
Strong experience with data visualisation tools
Experience working with cloud platforms to build data pipelines
Experience with Git, or similar, using branches and pull requests for collaborative development
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage non-technical audiences
Ability to drive change and deliver value from data
Degree/Masters or equivalent in a relevant field, e.g. statistics or mathematics
Energy retail experience preferred
Experience with advanced analytics techniques including modelling and segmentation preferred
Experience with Databricks, Git, and Tableau preferred
