About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Gather and translate partner, customer, and internal stakeholder requirements into product specifications
- Manage product-related projects through release cycles, including planning, requirements definition, development handoff, pilot support, and follow-through
- Serve as day-to-day product liaison for a strategic retail partner
- Analyze product, system, and data-related issues involving point-of-sale, inventory, order management, and related retail workflows
- Partner with development, product, professional services, support, marketing, and organizational readiness teams to resolve issues and support product adoption
- Champion customer and partner needs internally and engage resources to solve problems
- Support new application development by creating content, clarifying requirements, and preparing internal teams for product changes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in product management, business analysis, requirements analysis, project planning, or a similar role
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate business needs into actionable requirements
- Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams
- Strong communication and relationship-management skills
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and champion issues through resolution
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and ability to learn internal product and development tools
- Willingness to travel regularly to a strategic partner campus
- Home center industry experience is an advantage
- Experience with ERP, retail technology, point-of-sale, inventory, supply chain, or order management systems is an advantage
- Experience supporting product needs for national accounts, franchise networks, retail partners, or multi-location customer environments is an advantage
- Familiarity with partner-facing product management, customer escalations, release readiness, or pilot implementations is an advantage
- Located in the greater Illinois area or ability to travel there 2–3 times a month
- Must be located in the greater Chicago or Illinois area or willing to relocate
