About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide technical expertise and credibility to account teams
Conduct customer presentations on ePlus value propositions and technical solutions
Assist sales account managers with account planning and complex presales project management
Complete technical sections of RFP, RFI, and RFQ responses
Collect customer business and technical requirements and determine recommended solutions
Develop solution architectures and detailed bills of material
Develop proposals and presentations for recommended solutions
Assist with technical scoping and review of Statements of Work
Liaise with customer technical staff regarding solution and implementation specifics
Liaise between sales teams, professional services, and OEM sales and technical teams
Mentor junior sales account managers and conduct knowledge transfer
Support customer satisfaction issues and develop customer get-well plans
Identify candidate solution areas for ePlus development or investment
Complete training and maintain certifications
Help improve procedures and functions
Participate in weekly team planning calls
Complete administrative tasks, including expenses and time reporting
Ensure opportunity coverage during training, vacation, and PTO
Travel up to 50% as required

Requirements

What you’ll need

Extensive hands-on experience with one or more high-end routing platforms, including Cisco ASR 9000 / 1000 Series, NCS 5500 Series; Juniper MX, PTX, and ACX Series; Nokia 7750 SR, 7950 XRS, and 7250 IXR Series; or Ciena SAOS platforms
Strong background in optical networking technologies, including DWDM, OTN, and ROADMs
Deep protocol-level knowledge of BGP, MPLS, IS-IS, OSPF, and EVPN
Ability to integrate routing and optical technologies into cohesive network solutions
Practical experience designing and deploying large-scale networks for service providers
Solid pre-sales engineering background, including OEM and platform selection, SOW development, and strategic customer engagements
Experience with technical proposal development, solution presentations, product demonstrations, and RFP/RFI responses
Minimum 5+ years in telecommunications or service provider engineering roles
College degree or applicable work experience
Certifications in applicable technology preferred
Excellent written communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Excellent oral presentation skills
Ability to travel up to 50%
