About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support, configure, and extend EMW applications deployed for federal customers
- Work with the team to understand customer requirements and translate them into features
- Maintain and evolve the shared EMW application template
- Carry changes across the full application fleet through continuous refactoring, including dependency and library changes, provider migrations, and framework updates
- Build and improve controls for safe AI-assisted and citizen development
- Implement secrets management, token issuance, authentication, CI/CD checks, and code review practices
- Automate build, test, deployment, and operational workflows
- Help bring EMW to on-premises environments at Secret and Top Secret levels
- Support Linux hosting, hardening, and cross-domain considerations
- Identify capabilities for federal customers and help shape EMW growth across additional Department of War organizations and agencies
- Support Epoch's quality management system and continuous improvement efforts
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of hands-on experience in software development, DevSecOps, infrastructure automation, or systems engineering
- Strong Linux background including comfort working from the command line
- Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript and modern web frameworks
- Experience with scripting or programming in Python
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code or configuration management tools such as Ansible or Terraform
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity practices such as vulnerability management, secrets handling, and authentication/authorization
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- Applicants must be United States citizens
- All candidates are required to pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment
- Active U.S. Top Secret security clearance preferred; SCI eligibility a plus
- Experience with serverless or edge platforms and SQL databases preferred
- Experience supporting Department of War or Intelligence Community mission environments, including classified networks, preferred
- Experience with cybersecurity zero trust architectures or identity providers preferred
- Experience with DoD compliance frameworks such as RMF, STIGs, or CMMC preferred
- Experience working directly with federal customers preferred
- Experience with Linux and Docker development preferred
