About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support delivery of instrumentation and controls (I&C) maintenance training for new hires and technicians across member organizations
  • Collaborate with the Common Initial Training team to implement procedures and program responsibilities
  • Work directly with students to reinforce learning, ensure concept mastery, and provide learning support
  • Track student performance, progress, and completion of required content
  • Maintain training records and compliance with procedures and standards
  • Apply the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) in training activities
  • Coordinate with member organizations on site-specific training needs
  • Improve training materials and delivery methods
  • Develop new training content and modernization efforts
  • Support research on I&C, technical training, workforce development, and learning innovations
  • Work independently on technical activities and conduct technical searches
  • Communicate strategies and results to members, potential members, and external stakeholders through reports, meetings, webcasts, workshops, and conferences
  • Provide oversight of project teams and help ensure technical and financial milestones are met
  • Plan and execute complex project work and prepare and present research reports
  • Manage small or medium projects, budgets, and resources
  • Interface with national and international technical networks
  • Support proposal efforts and promotional work
  • Develop research or service opportunities for EPRI members
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (engineering, electrical, I&C, or related) or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience required
  • Hands-on experience as an I&C maintenance technician in a nuclear or regulated environment
  • Industry-recognized training certification
  • Working knowledge of Systematic Approach to Training (SAT)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work directly with learners in a virtual setting and support instructional delivery
  • Experience supporting formal training programs in nuclear or highly regulated industries
  • Experience with eLearning training authoring tools and processes
  • Exposure to instructional design or curriculum development
  • Experience interacting with utility or member organizations
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) or training tracking tools
  • Technical expertise across related disciplines
  • Ability to conduct technical searches and analyze information
  • Ability to develop technical solutions to complex problems using ingenuity and creativity
  • Ability to manage small or medium projects, including budgets and resources
  • Ability to communicate strategies and results in written and verbal formats
  • Ability to support complex project planning and execution
  • Ability to interface with national and international technical networks
