About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Advise the Chief AI Officer on Equinix’s enterprise AI strategy and execution
  • Define and communicate AI strategy, priorities, and investment roadmap
  • Develop decision briefs with recommendations, alternatives, financial implications, and risks
  • Assess emerging AI capabilities, competitors, and partnerships
  • Lead strategic initiatives and special projects from problem definition through delivery
  • Own the AI leadership team’s operating rhythm, including planning, portfolio reviews, leadership meetings, and offsites
  • Drive visibility into priorities, dependencies, investments, and results
  • Validate value assumptions and distinguish realized benefits from forecasts
  • Coordinate budget and workforce planning with Finance and HR
  • Resolve execution barriers and escalate material risks
  • Represent the CAIO within delegated decision rights
  • Build partnerships with executive leaders, Chiefs of Staff, and business owners to drive AI adoption and value realization
  • Resolve cross-functional dependencies and competing priorities
  • Prepare Board materials, executive materials, decision memos, and organizational communications
  • Prepare the CAIO for customer, partner, and industry engagements
  • Partner with AI leadership and HR on operating model evolution, workforce priorities, and leadership development
  • Coordinate responsible AI requirements and unresolved risk decisions with governance, Security, Legal, and other control functions
  • Advance AI fluency and change initiatives with business leaders
  • Improve organizational processes and use of AI to reduce manual reporting and unnecessary meetings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of experience in strategy, business operations, consulting, Chief of Staff, product, data, AI, or related leadership roles
  • Demonstrated ownership of execution and business results
  • Strong understanding of enterprise AI and technology operating models, including generative AI, agents, shared platforms, adoption barriers, AI economics, and risk
  • Experience delivering complex initiatives across a large, global, matrixed organization
  • Experience resolving competing priorities and recovering off-track work
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen
  • Experience with business cases, investment prioritization, budget planning, and benefits measurement
  • Experience developing executive communications, Board materials, and strategic plans with limited revision
  • Experience partnering with C-suite executives through ambiguity and organizational change
  • Ability to engage credibly with technical and business leaders
  • Strategic judgment and ability to make trade-offs
