About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and lead a new DevOps team offering an AI and container management service for Equinix Managed Solutions
  • Define and execute the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for Equinix's AI and Container Management Service
  • Partner with Product Management to translate customer needs and market opportunities into platform capabilities
  • Establish service level objectives, operational standards, and platform governance
  • Drive adoption of cloud-native best practices across engineering and operations teams
  • Lead architecture and design decisions and DevOps processes for Kubernetes/OpenShift-based managed services
  • Ensure platform scalability, resiliency, security, and operational readiness
  • Drive automation across provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management
  • Integrate the service with global ordering and back-office systems to provide self-service
  • Partner with network, infrastructure, security, EMS operations, and EMS fulfillment teams
  • Operate the service at enterprise availability level as it scales out
  • Drive organizational improvements to internal processes and systems
  • Identify gaps, risks, and issues and influence stakeholders to resolve them
  • Provide objective input to senior leadership and executive decision makers
  • Define improvement plans, standardization, release, change management, and support plans
  • Communicate portfolio status and budget utilization to stakeholders
  • Develop operational KPIs and continuously improve availability, performance, and customer experience
  • Lead a high-performing global engineering and DevOps organization
  • Contribute to succession planning, talent development, career pathways, and individual growth plans
  • Foster ownership, innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Director-level experience managing managers, delivering multiple software products or services
  • Proven experience leading DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering teams
  • Strong and demonstrable operational experience providing a highly available global service
  • Experience delivering Kubernetes or (preferred) OpenShift-based infrastructure and operating it at scale
  • 15+ years professional experience in a software development leadership role
  • Bachelor's in Engineering preferred
