About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop a comprehensive HSE program for the region with Facility Data Center Managers, regional HSE partners, and Global HSE
  • Drive Global HSE policies to regional and data center facilities
  • Implement HSE plans within the region
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Perform site audits and inspections and monitor HSE performance for a group of data centers
  • Track corrective actions and closures of audit findings by Global HSE and third-party vendors
  • Enhance the culture of safety and employee engagement in safety and environmental programs
  • Develop reporting, analyze trends, and recommend improvements to HSE practices
  • Develop and implement programs supporting customer, employee, and subcontractor safety
  • Monitor implemented programs on an ongoing basis
  • Determine incident root causes and corrective actions with cross-functional teams
  • Ensure incidents are properly reported and investigated using root cause analysis methods
  • Organize and conduct safety training
  • Provide leadership for the community of Safety Leads

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years' experience with HSE program concepts
  • Ability to apply HSE concepts in a data center environment
  • Experience in a data center or comparable environment such as construction, hospital, or other industrial environments preferred
  • Undergraduate education in Environmental Engineering/Science or a safety/health-related degree
  • EHS-related certifications, CSP, CHMM, etc. preferred but not required
  • Proactive with strong interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to write reports
  • High integrity and skilled communicator
  • Ability to multitask and handle competing priorities
  • Able to perform essential job functions including walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, lifting, and manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • May be required to perform call work supporting HSE issues during off hours
