About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Shape and direct execution of Equinix’s enterprise strategy
- Translate long-term strategy into a clear, actionable, and measurable multi-year strategic roadmap
- Identify and manage enterprise-level growth levers and capital allocation trade-offs across organic and inorganic avenues
- Connect long- and short-term enterprise-wide strategies to drive coherent choices
- Improve the enterprise-level strategic planning process
- Act as a thought partner to the Chief Strategy Officer and functional leaders on business, technology, and operational strategy
- Prioritize and manage a portfolio of critical strategic initiatives across functions and regions
- Advise senior executives and provide thought leadership and constructive challenge
- Oversee financial and business performance analysis and establish clear KPIs
- Manage communications and discussions with the executive team on critical strategy topics
- Build, maintain, and leverage financial models for strategic decisions and long-term forecasts
- Evaluate growth drivers and monitor execution against strategic decisions and assumptions
- Diagnose challenges and recommend course corrections
- Help guide Equinix’s capital deployment and develop capital allocation frameworks
- Support the identification, evaluation, and development of strategic venture opportunities with Corporate Development and functional leaders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited institution
- 7+ years’ professional experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, investment banking, or private equity
- Technology industry experience preferred but not required
- Experience driving work within an enterprise-level strategic planning process
- Repeated experience building complex financial models and forecasting corporate performance and decision implications across multi-year horizons at large enterprises
- Preference for experience with capex-intensive industries
- Proven track record framing and leading project management of cross-functional strategy initiatives
- Ability to assess strategic initiatives, challenge initiative owners constructively, and drive execution feasibility
- Strong influencing skills and senior stakeholder relationship-building ability
- Ability to shape strategic direction without direct authority
- Proven track record providing novel and innovative solutions to complex strategic issues
- Ability to independently draft and present client deliverables, recommendations, and communications strategies
- Deep analytical, problem-solving, and data-centric decision-making capabilities
- Self-motivated ability to drive work through ambiguity in a dynamic, results-oriented environment
