About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor, assess, and work with management to mitigate the organization’s overall compliance risk exposures
- Conduct risk assessments of ERIE operations to identify potential liabilities and non-compliance risks
- Partner with first line of defense management and risk assurance teams to identify, assess, report, recommend mitigation, and monitor compliance and ethics risks
- Establish, implement, and monitor processes supporting regulatory and internal policy compliance
- Perform compliance testing and evaluate controls related to compliance risk exposures
- Collaborate with business areas and provide guidance on risk-specific mitigation plans
- Prepare recommendations and lead initiatives to enhance the Compliance Program
- Develop, maintain, and enhance compliance tools for conducting and monitoring risk assessments
- Prepare reports, metrics, and communications for business process leaders, senior leaders, executive leaders, and the Audit Committee
- Support internal requests for compliance risk assessment information and total cost of risk
- Lead complex initiatives improving compliance risk management through coordination, collaboration, and automation
- Identify state requirements, NAIC market regulation standards, and industry findings related to regulatory compliance risks
- Serve as an expert resource and primary advisor on highly complex compliance risk management matters
- Maintain a thorough understanding of ERIE’s business practices and operations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in a business-related discipline and seven years’ experience in insurance, risk management, or related business analysis experience required; or
- Associate's degree in a business-related discipline and nine years’ experience in insurance, risk management, or related business analysis experience required; or
- High school diploma and eleven years’ experience in insurance, risk management, or related business analysis experience required
- Working knowledge of risk assessments required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook required
- Occasional overnight travel required
- Knowledge of compliance risk preferred
- Working knowledge of regulatory processes preferred
- Familiarity with database software and SharePoint preferred
- Relevant designations or training such as CCEP, ARC, ARM, or CRM preferred
- Ability to perform occasional driving and lifting, frequent computer use/data entry, and rare climbing/accessing heights
