About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to the design, development, testing, and delivery of connected products for Resideo’s security and smart-building portfolio
- Work with security video products and integrate them with security panels, thermostats, water-leak detectors, and other connected devices
- Break down requirements into development tasks and keep Jira updated with progress, risks, and outcomes
- Participate in code reviews, stand-ups, planning sessions, retrospectives, and other team meetings
- Apply test-driven development, version control, continuous integration, and technical documentation practices
- Collaborate with firmware, cloud, product, and quality teams
- Build knowledge of embedded Linux, image processing, computer vision, connected-device platforms, and developer-driven AI workflows
- Develop technical skills through research, training, technical communities, forums, webinars, and colleague guidance
- Participate in special projects and assignments supporting Resideo’s strategic goals
- Represent Resideo professionally and contribute to products that help customers protect what matters most
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1+ years of academic or professional experience programming, preferably C/C++ or an object-oriented language
- 1+ years of academic or professional experience in Linux operating system environments
- 1+ years of academic or professional experience working in a collaborative engineering team
- Interest in developer-driven AI workflows
- Ability to understand high-level requirements and break them into manageable tasks
- Familiarity with test-driven development
- Academic, project, or practical experience with embedded Linux, firmware development, or connected devices
- Interest in image processing, computer vision, and video-based product features
- Familiarity with Git and GitHub Actions
- Exposure to Jira, Confluence, or similar tools
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and interest in technology
