About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead executive communication planning and strategy aligned to business priorities
- Develop executive communications materials, including decks, talking points, briefing documents, and scripts
- Manage the executive communications editorial calendar and prioritize incoming requests
- Develop industry-relevant points of view and translate them into executive storytelling
- Integrate customer, partner, and solution stories into executive narratives
- Advise on communication considerations, message risk, and strategic positioning
- Lead executive internal communications, including town halls, intranet posts, organizational emails, and leadership messaging
- Ensure employee communications support understanding of company strategy
- Lead executive external communications strategy, including social messaging
- Monitor, analyze, and report on executive communications and thought leadership efforts
- Refine messaging and executive engagement strategy using insights
- Build and execute proactive earned media strategy across consumer, trade, business, and innovation outlets
- Manage reputational risk and high-impact issues, ensuring readiness and rapid response
- Partner with legal, HR, operations, and marketing to align response strategies and protect Resideo’s reputation
- Develop external messaging frameworks connecting corporate priorities with compelling storytelling
- Draft or oversee press releases, executive remarks, op-eds, media statements, and issue responses
- Manage department budgets
- Manage, mentor, and develop the Communications team; set objectives and provide performance feedback
Requirements
What you’ll need- 15+ years of communications, executive communications, marketing operations, or related professional experience
- 10+ years of experience developing internal and/or external communications
- Advanced writing and presentation skills in PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing a communications team
- Experience advising senior executives, including direct collaboration with the C-suite
- Advanced strategic communications counsel experience
- Experience serving as a company spokesperson and managing media relationships
- Deep understanding of media dynamics, crisis response protocols, and brand/reputation positioning
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage ambiguity, and solve problems creatively, clearly, and timely
- Exceptional strategic thinking
- Ability to lead cross-functional efforts with influence and diplomacy
