About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Greet customers and facilitate the patient registration process
- Interview patients or representatives to obtain demographic, financial, and minimum health information
- Obtain insurance cards and identification documents and update medical records
- Collect co-payments and down payments, reconcile the cash drawer, and report daily deposit records
- Maintain assigned work queues
- Provide caring customer service to patients, co-workers, and others
- Answer incoming phone calls and schedule appointments
- Refer patients to the clinical team as needed
- Sanitize registration equipment and restock basic supplies
- Complete patient checkout and schedule follow-up appointments per physician orders
- Provide cost estimates and itineraries for upcoming appointments
- Perform other clerical duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous Patient Access Representative or Patient Scheduler experience preferred
- Completion of Healthcare Business Insight’s Patient Access 2nd Level Certification Program within six months of hire date preferred
- Ability to work day/evening rotation
- Ability to perform patient registration, scheduling, point-of-service collections, and related clerical duties
