About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Greet customers and facilitate the patient registration process
- Interview patients or representatives through face-to-face and virtual interactions
- Obtain demographic and financial information and required documents/data
- Liaise between patients, Virtual Patient Registration Representatives, and Patient Schedulers
- Complete patient checkout
- Schedule follow-up appointments according to physician orders
- Provide cost estimates and itineraries for upcoming appointments
- Obtain insurance cards and identification documents and update medical records
- Collect co-payments and down payments, reconcile the cash drawer, and report deposit records
- Maintain assigned work queues
- Answer incoming calls, schedule appointments, and refer patients to the clinical team as needed
- Sanitize registration equipment and restock supplies
- Perform other clerical duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous Patient Access Representative or Patient Scheduler experience preferred
- Ability to interview patients and obtain demographic, financial, and minimum health information
- Ability to obtain insurance cards and identification documents
- Ability to collect patient co-payments and down payments
- Ability to reconcile cash drawer and report daily deposit records
- Ability to maintain assigned work queues
- Ability to answer incoming phone calls and schedule appointments
- Ability to sanitize registration equipment and restock supplies
