About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide financial counseling to patients for Essentia Health services in-person and virtually
- Assist patients with navigating Essentia Health’s payment options
- Assist patients with Medicaid eligibility and financial assistance programs
- Perform self-pay liability price estimates
- Analyze accounts to evaluate, develop and implement action plans
- Educate guarantors and help resolve their financial responsibilities
- Assist with patient phone inquiries from the Patient Financial Services call center
- Exceed patient expectations and contribute positively to the working environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Knowledge in registration, coding, insurance billing and payment methodology
- Knowledge of self-pay collections
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Some trade course classes in accounting, business, and/or communications would be very beneficial
- 2 years of experience in Financial Counseling, Self-Pay Collections, Call Center, Billing and/or Health Care
