About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and resolve high volumes of patient accounts for services provided by Essentia Health
- Act as the primary contact or liaison for patients regarding outstanding statements and inquiries
- Provide support for insurance, coding, registration, financial assistance, and billing-related issues
- Provide financial assistance via face-to-face communication and telephone using automated phone technology
- Analyze accounts and develop and implement action plans with patients to resolve financial responsibilities
- Follow up on delinquent accounts and payment plans
- Collect patient accounts and follow up on collections by telephone or letters
- Handle incoming patient mail and respond to inquiries via written communication
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience with handling cash payments
- Self-pay collections experience
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Knowledge of computers, software applications, printer, FAX, copier, and billing programs
- Experience preferred in customer service, call center and/or collections
- No educational requirement
- No certification/licensure required
