About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, build, and support Salesforce applications and integrations through requirements, design, build, test, deployment, and support
- Build reliable event-driven integrations that handle duplicate and late events, recover from failures, and provide support diagnostics
- Build and maintain inbound REST APIs and outbound callouts to external systems
- Build and improve Apex, LWC, and Flow solutions; maintain automation and move logic to Apex when scale, control, or testing requires it
- Write bulkified Apex designed around governor limits, record locks, and asynchronous job limits
- Protect personal and health data through appropriate sharing, object and field access, least privilege, explicit execution contexts, and secure logging
- Build integrations using Named and External Credentials, OAuth 2.0, Platform Events, Change Data Capture, and Apex REST, with retries, idempotency, and partial-failure handling
- Write behavioral and failure-case tests, use mocks, address static-analysis findings, and review code from teammates, contractors, and AI tools
- Deploy through Git-based CI/CD; manage sandboxes, destructive changes, rollback plans, and Salesforce releases while keeping Git and production synchronized
- Triage production issues, debug across integration boundaries, and fix root causes
- Collaborate with Salesforce Administrators, business analysts, data engineers, and product engineering teams within the Enterprise Systems team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Typically 5+ years of Salesforce development experience, not admin and config work alone, or equivalent evidence of delivering and supporting production systems
- Strong Apex, SOQL, bulk processing, asynchronous processing, and automated testing skills
- Experience building REST or event-driven integrations that handle duplicate messages, retries, and partial failures
- Ability to build and debug Flow and LWC (modern JavaScript, ES6+) solutions, and explain when Apex is the better choice
- Experience with Salesforce data models, sharing, object and field access, Salesforce CLI, Git, and automated deployments
- Ability to investigate production failures, review code, and explain technical decisions to business teams
- Use of the team's AI coding tools and checking their output for correctness, security, and maintainability
- Experience with trigger frameworks and layered Apex design, dependency injection, and mocking libraries (nice to have)
- Experience integrating Salesforce with customer data platforms, contact-center systems, marketing tools, or identity providers (nice to have)
- Insurance or financial services experience, especially with agent or partner distribution (nice to have)
- Consent and privacy compliance, including TCPA and CCPA (nice to have)
- Salesforce Platform Developer II certification (nice to have)
