About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support efficient and accurate operation of a fast-paced laboratory
Greet clients, vendors, and visitors and answer general questions
Collect samples from the on-site drop box
Unpack shipments and document receipt of samples
Organize and record samples
Enter data into LIMS
Maintain the department and laboratory, including stocking supplies and housekeeping
Assist with customer service and handle walk-in clients
Conduct all activities safely and efficiently
Process daily mail and small shipments of bottle kits
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma or equivalent
Further education in biological or chemical science preferred
Experience in a fast-paced work environment
Lab experience and exposure to the environmental industry preferred
TALS experience is a plus
Strong computer, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Self-motivated, adaptable, and positive attitude
Ability to handle moderate stress in a fast-paced environment
Detail-oriented data entry skills
Ability to prioritize
Customer service skills
Science-based background preferred
Must live a commutable distance to Ayer, MA
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Professional working proficiency in English, including the ability to read, write, and speak English
Must work Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm
