About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Define a unified, platform-centric strategy, roadmap and governance model for AI and Data Science across Passport and other customer offerings
Set the platform operating model, governance and standards
Own the platform roadmap for agentic AI products using Euromonitor data to create new customer experiences
Advise executive leadership on AI and analytics investment
Develop agentic AI offerings that enhance customer experience, unlock revenue streams and create new products
Build AI-driven search and discovery using RAG-based retrieval across structured and unstructured data
Develop recommendation engines and natural language processing for discovery and personalisation
Establish evaluation mechanisms for accuracy, relevance and quality of AI and agentic outputs
Optimize workflows through agentic automation
Create reusable AI, data science and agentic components for Passport and other products
Apply machine learning techniques including ranking, personalisation and recommendation
Deploy agentic AI systems and product features efficiently in production with governance, AI Ops, monitoring, quality controls and Responsible AI practices
Partner with Engineering, Architecture and Data Platform teams on production-ready AI platforms and AI Ops pipelines
Integrate AI and analytics into products with Product, Engineering, Data Platform, Research and Commercial teams
Hire, coach and develop the AI and Data Science team in India
Build a pipeline of future technical leaders
Use metrics and data to track outcomes and guide decisions
Establish a transparent, collaborative working culture and team norms

Requirements

What you’ll need

15+ years in software engineering, building enterprise platforms and scalable applications
Significant leadership experience and a track record of building and scaling teams
Ideally, experience setting up a team in a new location
Experience defining a platform strategy for AI adoption across a large organisation and leading the change needed to adopt it
Proven people management experience, including hiring, coaching and performance management
Proven experience turning AI and Data Science functionality into platforms and reusable solutions with product and business impact
Experience shipping agentic AI features inside a commercial, customer-facing product
Generative AI and Agentic AI experience
Practical depth in AI agents, agentic workflows, large language models, vector databases, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and natural language processing techniques
Strong engineering foundations applying Machine Learning and deep learning within products
Practical credibility in Python, SQL and at least one major ML framework, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch or scikit-learn
Working depth in at least one major cloud platform, such as Azure, AWS or GCP
Experience with modern AI Ops practices
Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills
Comfortable working across global time zones and functions
Collaborative approach and track record of building trust across Engineering, Product, Research and Commercial functions
Desirable: background in market research, publishing, information services or another accuracy-critical business
Desirable: experience partnering with vendors and solution providers
Desirable: experience in AI cost management at scale, including consumption modelling and unit economics
