About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor and improve the technical performance of the four Eurostar fleets based in Brussels and at the Leyton depot
- Analyse failures, anticipate trends, and lead the performance action plan with Engineering, Operations, and partners such as Siemens
- Produce weekly, monthly, and annual technical performance reports
- Carry out first-level technical analysis using D+1 and D+7 reports to identify trends and alerts
- Manage the single performance reporting tool
- Define and lead the Rolling Stock department’s performance action plan for each fleet
- Identify priority issues and introduce methodologies such as FRACAS
- Manage agreed actions through implementation and measure their effectiveness
- Take responsibility for personal and team safety and deliver assigned safety action-plan activities
- Analyse and code operating incidents with Operations and ensure the quality of Rolling Stock indicators
- Support joint analyses with infrastructure managers and relevant experts
- Define and implement operating needs, including adapted transport plans for sporting events and festivals
- Ensure fair allocation of allowable failures to Eurostar under the TSSSA contract with Siemens
- Represent Eurostar at monthly performance meetings with Siemens
Requirements
What you’ll need- Very strong technical knowledge of rolling stock, particularly high-speed trains
- Good understanding of how maintenance is organised and carried out
- Fluent French and English, with ability to manage French- and English-speaking teams
- Dutch would be a bonus
- Excellent analytical and summarising skills
- Confidence with office software and data tools such as Excel
- Knowledge of simple statistics and graphical presentation of KPIs
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Rolling Stock and Operations teams
- Solid management experience
- Ability to join the On Call Authorising Engineering team and associated roster
