About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Advise the business on legal compliance, business ethics and personal data protection requirements.
- Provide recommendations on Eurostar’s legal compliance and regularly report to the ExCo and Board.
- Monitor compliance with applicable legislation and internal policies and procedures.
- Draft and maintain compliance and data protection policies, procedures and notices.
- Develop and deliver training plans on anti-corruption, ethics and data protection.
- Identify, assess and manage compliance risks and incidents through data protection impact assessments, risk mapping and internal controls.
- Maintain the record of personal data processing activities.
- Lead and coordinate the Ethical Compliance Committee and Data Protection Forum.
- Act as a point of contact for data subjects, employees, customers, suppliers, partners, shareholders and supervisory authorities.
- Cooperate with supervisory authorities and shareholders.
- Manage and support the Data Privacy & Compliance Manager.
- Promote a collaborative and accountable environment across the organisation.
- Make operational decisions concerning legal and ethical compliance and contribute to reducing regulatory, contractual, administrative, legal and reputational risks.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A master’s degree or equivalent, with a specialisation in law.
- At least five years of experience in data protection law, IT law or legal compliance.
- Advanced knowledge of legal compliance and data protection.
- Strong expertise in compliance and anti-corruption matters.
- Advanced knowledge of management, business operations and risk management.
- A good understanding of project management.
- Advanced proficiency in both French and English.
- Intermediate knowledge of Dutch would be an advantage.
- Confident leadership and the ability to influence, advise and guide stakeholders across different departments.
- Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including the ExCo, Board, shareholders and supervisory authorities.
- Legal expertise, strategic thinking, independent judgement, and the ability to translate complex requirements into clear and practical recommendations.
