About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead, plan and deliver the heavy overhaul and major component repair programme across TMI
- Manage work safely and effectively while balancing planned and unplanned fleet maintenance requirements
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure materials, resources and equipment are available
- Implement an overhaul delivery schedule to improve workflow efficiency and fleet availability
- Lead and develop the overhaul team
- Monitor delivery against plan, safety, quality and cost
- Deliver the full life-cycle strategy for overhaul and heavy maintenance
- Improve fleet reliability and availability and support transport service delivery
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven leadership and management experience across multi-disciplinary teams, ideally within a rolling stock maintenance or heavy engineering environment
- Track record of delivering operational and safety performance
- Strong stakeholder management skills across multiple departments
- Experience applying Lean methodologies
- Financial and commercial awareness, including budget management and depot operating cost control
- Experience planning, coordinating and delivering heavy overhaul programmes in a production, engineering or maintenance environment
- Engineering experience and knowledge
- Relevant Engineering qualifications are desirable
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification, such as IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate, is desirable
- IT literacy for planning and performance reporting
- Experience using a maintenance management system to plan, record and monitor work
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations
