About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Reconstruct current-state processes through interviews, shadowing, and system data
  • Separate elapsed time from touch time
  • Document handoffs, queues, decision points, and exceptions
  • Pull duration, volume, and rework data from operational systems
  • Establish defensible baselines before changes are made
  • Define operating metrics and their underlying definitions
  • Design future-state processes around constraints, flow, queue discipline, sequencing, ownership, and quality gates
  • Determine what to eliminate, standardize, and automate
  • Pressure-test redesigns against real and edge cases
  • Work with function leaders and frontline teams to drive adoption
  • Build training, standard work, and manager routines
  • Track whether changes hold after handoff and intervene when needed
  • Partner with engineers to ensure builds start from corrected processes
  • Work with Finance to define and measure savings and capacity
  • Develop a repeatable improvement method across engagements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years in process improvement, operational excellence, business process consulting, or a hands-on operations leadership role with responsibility for redesigning how work is done
  • Demonstrated experience mapping a complex, multi-team process end to end and delivering a measured improvement, with numbers you can speak to
  • Strong quantitative skills; ability to pull, clean, and interrogate operational data in a spreadsheet or BI tool
  • Skilled interviewer and observer
  • Working knowledge of flow and queue concepts, cycle time, work in progress, and constraint analysis
  • Credibility with frontline teams and executives, and ability to hold a position when a redesign is unpopular
  • Clear, plain writing
  • Comfort with ambiguity and examining previously unexamined functions
  • Healthcare technology, SaaS, or another regulated environment preferred
  • Formal training in Lean, Six Sigma, or an equivalent improvement method, applied in practice preferred
  • Experience in implementation, onboarding, revenue cycle, support, or another high-volume operational function preferred
  • Familiarity with CRM and project or work management systems and their data preferred
  • Experience working alongside a technical team on automation or AI projects preferred
  • Change management experience through leadership transition or reorganization preferred
  • Must be eligible to work without sponsorship in the United States
