About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Participate in all aspects of the DrChrono software development lifecycle for new application development and existing system maintenance
Gather and document requirements
Estimate requirements
Develop software
Perform automated unit testing
Deploy software
Conduct software demonstrations
Maintain systems documentation
Participate in daily stand-ups and retrospectives
Mentor and pair with developers
Create prototypes
Work alongside developers, quality assurance testers, and product owners on an agile team to deliver stable, quality software
Code, test, and deploy software (70%)
Conduct mentoring, pairing, and code reviews (20%)
Perform requirement estimation and software spikes (5%)
Participate in meetings, presentations, and demos (5%)

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of professional software development experience
3+ years' experience writing production backend code in Python and Django
3+ years' experience doing front-end web development using HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript
2+ years' experience with React and Typescript
3+ years of experience with Test Automation, Mocking, Stubs, etc
Experience with Relational Databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, or other)
Demonstrates expertise in algorithms, refactoring and engineering best practices (DRY, SOLID, etc)
Proficiency with Git
Experience conducting code reviews
Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science is preferred or equivalent experience
Must be eligible to work without sponsorship
Nice to haves: Test driven development experience; Experience with Agile and Scrum development methodologies; Experience with Developer experience AI tools
