About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, and implement training materials for current and future products
- Identify, develop, and implement advanced learning programs focused on clinical acumen, skill development, strategic partnerships, and account management
- Establish learning and development objectives and initiatives that translate strategy into actionable behaviors for high-performing commercial field teams
- Support new hires through onboarding, completion of new-hire training, and ongoing skill development
- Collaborate with sales leadership and cross-functional departments including sales, marketing, commercial operations, market access, human resources, and information technology
- Deploy learning programs across onboarding, home-study curricula, live and virtual training programs, area and regional meetings, and national sales meetings/POAs
- Assess knowledge gaps within field teams and address them through training initiatives and programs
- Learn new disease-state materials and implement training on them in a timely manner
- Evaluate training participants’ competency levels and provide detailed evaluations and feedback
- Work with sales management to formulate development plans
- Ensure activities and materials comply with internal regulatory and legal requirements
- Partner with Sales, Medical/Clinical, Legal, Regulatory, and other strategic partners to develop and deliver training
- Guide and manage the LMS administrator and distance-learning technology for commercial field teams
- Manage vendor partners from selection through content development and deployment
- Conduct presentation-skills training for speakers with medical and commercial teams
- Participate in research to help develop future training materials
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3+ years of experience as a successful sales representative selling pharmaceuticals or medical equipment
- 6+ years of experience in a national sales training department
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery
- Previous experience in a pharmaceutical training environment is mandatory
- Previous experience in a pharmaceutical sales environment with exposure to training is required
- Experience supporting a detailed, multi-component program from concept to completion in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Product launch experience or major new indication launch experience preferred
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Superb track record in developing and executing successful training programs
- Highly computer literate with proficiency in MS Office and related business and communication tools
- Familiarity with traditional and modern training processes and adult learning principles
- Working knowledge of sound instructional design
- Fantastic organizational and time management skills
- Strategic and creative mindset
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Expertise in training and facilitation
- Willingness to travel 50% based on clients' training needs
