About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Respond independently to unsolicited medical information inquiries from healthcare professionals, consumers, patients, caregivers, and payers
  • Identify, research, and critically evaluate medical literature to create responses
  • Identify and accurately document adverse events and product complaints
  • Perform intake and generate adverse event and product complaint reports in compliance with standard operating procedures
  • Make accurate assessments regarding the level and depth of information required
  • Write adverse event and product complaint narratives and document medical inquiries
  • Handle requests across phone, email, CRM, chat, and other platforms
  • Coordinate processes for responding to product quality-related complaints
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and complainants
  • Maintain current knowledge of products, therapeutic areas, and client requirements
  • Ensure accurate documentation, high quality, and excellent customer service
  • Staff scientific medical affairs booths
  • Perform assigned on-call responsibilities
  • Contribute to process improvements affecting Medical Communications Contact Center metrics
  • Maintain and enhance customer service for the Medical Information Contact Center
  • Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate, Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Nursing or a related healthcare discipline from an accredited institution
  • Strong clinical and healthcare background
  • Ability to interpret and communicate medical information clearly and accurately
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to work full time (40+ hours per week)
  • Flexible with work scheduling as required by clients and management
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Knowledge of FDA post-marketing adverse event reporting regulations and safety terminology
  • Ability to critically evaluate medical literature
  • Technology proficiency in telephony, Medical Information database, Microsoft Office, and video conference platforms
  • Therapeutic expertise
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in medical and healthcare, pharmaceutical industry, or equivalent is preferred
  • Direct clinical or patient-facing healthcare experience is strongly preferred
  • Registered Nurse (RN) or equivalent licensure is preferred
